Mary Ellen Lepionka, author of Writing and Developing Your College Textbook and Writing and Developing College Textbook Supplements, offers seminars and workshops on 1) textbook authoring— for faculty members, scholars, and other professionals in academe; and 2) textbook development and author management—for editors and other professionals in higher education publishing.

Presentations to faculty—on campus or at the annual meetings of professional associations—help meet members' professional development needs by providing information on higher education publishing today and best practices in textbook writing. Click here to preview author workshop topics.

Mary Ellen offers two-hour seminars and half-day, full-day, or two-day workshops. She adapts the content to the needs of the host organization or company and its academic community, members, employees, or staff.

All workshops have formats that combine lecture, discussion, hands-on practice, and one-on-one consultation. Participants receive free workshop resource materials and publications. Participants in workshops may receive a free copy of Writing and Developing Your College Textbook, Second Edition.

Workshop fees begin with travel and travel-related expenses and a modest base rate and otherwise are negotiable. In some venues, fees may be reduced or waived if on-site exhibits or sales of books are permitted.
